The 2011 NENDRA has come to a close after a final event cancellation due to a snow storm, and no opportunity for a reschedule. We are excited to officially announce that we have a new champion. Congratulations to John Colabatistto: The 2011 NENDRA Champion. John has become our first two-time chamption. Nendra Founder, Chris Baum, had a late season charge towards the top, and takes home the runner-up position. Thank you to all our supporters and racers for a great 2011 season. The 2012 season is already in the works so stay tuned for our open house meeting announcement early in the new year.

2011 NENDRA racing season is in the home stretch. At the 2nd to last event of the year, and the right combination of round winners, we now have a 3 way chase for the 2011 NENDRA Championship. Coming strong as of late was veteran NENDRA racer Bill Stephen losing in the final to event #12 Winner Chris Baum. Event #13 and final race of the 2011 season is scheduled for 10/29 at LVD.

With only 3 events to go in the 2011 NENDRA racing season, everyone was racing harder than normal to make their move towards the top spot. This event had the closest stripe finishes of any event thus far. Coming out on top was Cuda John Seifert defeating Bill Stephens on a double break-out. Next event is scheduled for 10/08 at LVD.

Last event had blistering temps, this event... Hurricane Irene was coming to town. That didn't stop NENDRA veteran and no stranger to the winners circle, John Collabatistto from taking another win light in the final. That makes two in a row and he put some distance on his points lead. Next event is scheduled for Saturday 9/10 at LVD.

Summertime racing is not always fun in the heat, but at event #9, the results cooled down one red hot racer. John Colabattista took the win in the final against Mike Volpe, but only after John took out Mister Undefeated Bruce Sessions in round 1. This left the top spot to change hands once again as John has sole possession of the NENDRA points lead. Number 9 is in the books and the 2011 NENDRA racing season has 4 events to go. Event #10 is scheduled for Saturday 8/27 at LVD.

That's right, Bruce has done it again. At the 8th event of the 2011 NENDRA racing season, Bruce Sessions took the win over a redlighting John Collabatistto in the final. This win marks the 3rd of the season for Bruce Sessions and a win streak of seven events attended, and seven events won. You heard that right folks, whenever Bruce shows up he has not even lost a single round in 2 years. With the latest win, that moves Bruce back into the top spot in the NENDRA points chase. Next event #9 is scheduled for August 13th at LVD.

After a short break in the 2011 NENDRA racing season, the crew returned to the 1320 at Lebanon Valley for event #7. With the points leader not in attendance, that left the door open to shake things up. The finals saw Chris Baum taking on John Seifert with John taking his first win of the season with his 1969 Plymouth Barracuda. That moved NENDRA founder Chris Baum into the top spot, and the points race getting tighter as the season moves forward. Congratulations to Cuda John Seifert on the win !! Next event #8 is scheduled for July 30th at LVD.

NENDRA made their way to Island Dragway for the 6th event of the season. This event was the NENDRA bonus race and open house event. With many of the Nostalgia groups in the area in attendance, Island Dragway was host to a ride in the wayback machine. On fire as of late Bob Smith and his 70 Chevelle, made another appearance to the finals, but came up short for the 2nd weekend in a row, losing to a familiar face to the NENDRA winners circle John Colabattista and his 1962 Plymouth. With NENDRA founder Chris Baum losing in the Semis, that left the leader board unchanged but Bob, John, and Chris, all in a 3-way tie for 2nd, have all closed the gap on current points leader Bruce Sessions. The 7th event of the 2011 NENDRA series is scheduled for Saturday July 16th and will be returning to Lebanon Valley.

What a fantastic day at Lebanon Valley for event #5. Aside from the 2 pistonator "vehicles" and 1 truck wrecking, and in turn causing three, one hour delays, the NENDRA gang, as always put forth a great show. In the finals, newcomer to NENDRA Bob Smith and returning member Rich Cosenza for his first event of 2011, came together in a final round Clash of the Chevelles. Coming out on top was Rich Cosenza and his 1966 Chevelle taking the win over Bob Smith and his 1970 Chevelle. Next event for the tour is number 6 at Island Dragway scheduled for Sunday 6/26.

Event number 4 was the day of breakage. Covertible Tops, Oil Systems, Starters, and Transmissions. Just goes to show you that the NENDRA crew is putting it all on the line every time. An early trend is starting to surface. Bruce Sessions has attended 2 of the 4 races on the 2011 schedule, and he has won yet again. Congratulations Bruce Sessions on taking the Win at event #4. Next event #5 is scheduled for June 18th at LVD, then back to Island Dragway for our #6 event bonus points race on Sunday June 26th.

Event number 3 was odd. With a solid membership headcount early in the week, the turnout was dismal and unacceptable. Weather? Maybe. The entire venue seemed very light on car count. One person takes the heat every time we put forth the headcount to the track personnel and we know who that is. Due to this, a new ultimatum was put in place regarding the event payout which was a shock to those members that witnessed the explanation. Too bad that took away and overshadowed Mike Volpe and his efforts to take the win at event #3. Taking over right where he left off in 2010, Mike is on track to be a serious contender in 2011. Also, welcome our newest member and first NENDRA Oldsmobile, Joe "bbo" Bernard. In his first outting with NENDRA, Joe lost in the final. Next event is scheduled for 6/4 at LVD. See you there !!

Finally the season has started. With event #1 cancelled due to flooding, Lebanon Valley Dragway was the season kick off for NENDRA. Ending the season in a controversial manner, only fueled some members even more to let it all hang out and charge hard for the crown at event #2. Congratulations to Bruce Sessions taking the win and 2010 Series Co-Champion and NENDRA Co-Founder Chris Baum taking the runner up. Event #3 is scheduled for May 21st at Lebanon Valley. Also, a quick shout to our newest members: Danny Sica, Bobby Smith, Rick Daigle, and Dan McHugh.

The 2011 NENDRA racing administration have working hard in the off season to make sure we grow as a group. Things like rule ammendments, changes, and additions are just a small part of preparing for the upcoming 2011 racing season. We are also proud to announce that the 2011 NENDRA racing season will begin on April 17th, 2011. The schedule has been approved, finalized, and posted on our Schedule page. We are planning something special for our Island Dragway dates so stay tuned for more details on what is going to be a new format at these 2 exclusive Island Dates.

Congratulations to event #16 winner Wayne Farquhar and runner-up John Colabatistto.
Island Dragway hosted the 2010 NENDRA finale once again.
Taking a step back for a moment... At event #15 it was determined mid-event that since 3 of the 6 remaining racers had to leave during competition for medical and/or personal reasons, that there would be a points freeze. Those remaining would be racing it out for the trophy. This decision was overturned after much deliberation. So, the points going in to event #16 were reflective of the actual standings of the completed event #15. This was deteremined due to a ruling that regardless of the hosting track having huge delays between rounds, added to the fact that competing racers needed to leave, that those racers whom chose to leave, were in fact forfeiting the upcoming round(s), and those chosing to stay should recieve their upcoming round points.
With that in mind, let's get back to Island Dragway for the finale results. It was discussed in the pits at Island Dragway on the morning of event #16 with those in the top spots, that if at the time current #2 racer were to win event #16 and at the time current #1 racer were to lose event #16 first round, that a run-off in a best 2 out of 3 format with each pass being worth 5 points would be needed to remove all doubt of whom the 2010 NENDRA champion would be due to the missing round of competition from event #15. Confusing? Stand by... All parties agreed before first round and again before the final round of what potentially would be occurring after the completion of the final round eliminator. All parties agreed and was witnessed by not only the NENDRA racers in attendance, but also several non-NENDRA racers. With the tone of these results you most likely already guessed what occurred.
With the best 2 out of 3 scenario on the table, the NENDRA pits were bustling with anticipation for a true championship showdown. Wayne who was the winner of event #16 chose to not participate in the 2 out 3 showdown after agreeing on two occasions. Only Chris Baum made his way to the lanes. Island Dragway staff was made aware of this situation before first round and said they would accomodate us to make this special run-off happen so the crowd could get into the story line.
After all that, and after completion of the solo run, the 2010 NENDRA Championship has ended in a tie. Some have voiced their opinion that Chris has won the overall championship by 5, but in an ultimate showing of sportsmanship, did not want the championship tainted nor debated. To bring this already long and confusing newsletter come to a close....We would like to announce:

2 weeks ago we wrote about the newly nicknamed "Back To Back" Bruce Sessions. Can you repeat after me... Three-Peat Bruce. In what turned out to be for many of those in attendance, the most bass-akwards (that typoe was intentional) run event in their racing career. Many factors could be faulted but the major contributer was that 4 events rained out the weekend prior and were moved to our date. Those in attendance can finish the rest of what went down during story time, but we are here to report on, promote, and celebrate the positive happenings when NENDRA comes to town. Bruce Sessions did in fact win his third event in a row in a double break-out finish over Wayne Farquhar. That brings us to the 2010 NENDRA finale scheduled for Sunday November 11/7 at Island Dragway. The top 3 are now only separated 40 points. With 45 on the table at this Sundays' finale, this could potentially be the most exciting first round of the year.

Bruce Sessions made the 4 1/2 hour trek to Island Dragway for his first visit to the facility and has now been nicknamed Back To Back Bruce. Taking the win with his 1965 Dodge Coronet at event #14 over runner-up Angelo Sclafani with his 1967 Plymouth Belvedere. With the win, Bruce inched up another 2 spots as did Angelo to put them in contention of the 2010 NENDRA championship. 2nd and 3rd place remained unchanged as Wayne Farquhar, who also made his first trip to Island, attempted to hold off the red hot as of late Mike Volpe. With both going out early, this left points leader Chris Baum to extend his lead by another 10 points after his 2nd round loss to eventual winner Bruce Sessions. Event #15 is scheduled for Saturday 10/30 at Lebanon Valley Dragway, followed by the season finale scheduled for Sunday 11/7 at Island Dragway.

Lucky 13 at LVD. Congrats to Bruce Sessions for his first win of the year in his 1965 Dodge Coronet. In only his 2nd try running with the group, Bruce held off a red hot as of late Mike Volpe who took the runner up spot this past weekend. With the win Bruce moved up 5 spots while Mike moved up another 2 spots putting him closer to the top spot for the 2010 crown. With an early 2nd round exit current points leader Chris Baum retained the top spot. With only 3 events to go, the 2010 NENDRA championship is within reach of many. Event #14 is scheduled for Sunday October 17th at Island Dragway.

Event number 12 at Lebanon Valley started with wonderful summer end weather and in the end was a spectacular Flip Flop Finish. In a reversal of the event number 10 outcome, a big congratulations goes to first time NENDRA winner Mike Volpe taking the win over Chris Baum. With the win, Mike made a huge jump in points to the 4th position. Runner-up Chris Baum regained the top spot which has been going back and forth with Bob Onorfrio. With four events to go in the 2010 NENDRA season, the crown is still up for grabs. Event #13 is scheduled for 10/9 at Lebanon Valley Dragway.

Event #11 scheduled for Sunday 9/5 at Island Dragway was cancelled due to the looming weather that eventually did not rear its ugly head. Thanks hurricane Earl for taking away a raceday. Next stop for NENDRA is scheduled for Saturday September 11th at Lebanon Valley.

The racing just keeps getting better every event with another full field at Lebanon Valley Dragway for stop #10 in the 2010 NENDRA season. Coming out on top for his first win in NENDRA was none other than co-founder Chris Baum who defeated runner-up Mike Volpe in the finals. The day saw some great action and some catastophic breakage. Congrats again to Chris for finally getting his win. With that, Chris moves into to points lead going in to event #11 scheduled for Sunday 9/5 at Island Dragway.

The best NENDRA race to date. Welcome aboard John Seifert (Brother of 2009 Nendra Runner Up Cuda Steve Seifert). John has finally joined the club with a stunning 1968 Plymouth Barracuda. How did the new guy do? How about making it to the final four. Great job!!!
Full field of 16, three more members without their rides helping out, and many members bringing their friends and family out for support flying their NENDRA colors and T-shirts = great time at Lebanon Valley Dragway. The large turnout meant that those in the hunt had to put up and that they did. Semi-Finals paired newbie to NENDRA John Seifert against Bob Onofrio with Bob taking the win. On the other side was Angelo Sclafani in the "Correct Direction" 1967 Plymouth Belvedere losing to the 66 Nova of Wayne Farquhar. That made for an all Chevy II final with Wayne taking the win over Bob Onofrio. With the leaders going out early, the points are again shaken up. Check out the results page. Next event #10 is scheduled for 8/28 at Lebanon Valley Dragway.

With great weather and another awesome member turnout, event number 8 held at Lebanon Valley Dragway was another one for the books. Taking his 2nd win of the season, Bob Onofrio moved up to the top of the points to share the top spot with Chris Baum. With an early exit, Mark Dimauro lost the top spot but remains in striking distance of the championship with 8 events to go. Next stop for the NENDRA caravan will be held Saturday 8/14 at Lebanon Valley.

Here is a triple shot of NENDRA news. Event number 6 was held at Lebanon Valley Dragway on July 17th. With Valley temps dancing in the 90's, our newest member Steve McDevitt stayed cool as the other side of the pillow with his 1968 Dodge Dart. Taking down the points leader Mark Dimauro in first round, and 2 other Darts including a time machine 1968 Dart driven by NENDRA veteran Cuda Steve Seifert, and the 67 post Dodge Dart of Bobby Samela to take his first win of the season.
Part 2 of todays' news is from event number 7 from the Island Dragway event on July 25th. Weather kept us away from holding this event so stay tuned for a potential reschedule date. Lastly, our next event is scheduled for Saturday 7/31 at Lebanon Valley Dragway.

Another first time winner this past weekend at Island Dragway. Congratulations to Mark Dimauro driving his 1966 Chevelle to a win on a redlighting Chris Baum with his 1965 Plymouth Belvedere. The NENDRA crew will be returning to Lebanon Valley Dragway for event #6 on July 17th.

Fathers Days special recap of event number 4 at Island Dragway. We're starting to see a trend. Co-Founder Chris Baum made his way to the finals to face none other than John Colabattisto. Congratulations to back to back winner Danbury John with his 62 Plymouth taking the win by .0159 over the 65 Plymouth of Chris Baum. Event number 5 will return to Island Dragway on Sunday 6/26.

The NENDRA gang attended Lebanon Valley Dragway for stop #3 of the 2010 season. A familiar face came out on top. Danbury John took his first win at the first event he has attended of the 2010 season. This was also the maiden voyage for a new engine combo that was installed that week and was completely untested. It is a little scary that the 2009 champ waded through the field with a virtually new bullet. Also congrats to Mark Dimauro for making it to his first final and a runner-up finish. Stop #4 of the NENDRA road show is scheduled for June 20th at Island Dragway.

The 2010 NENDRA crew made its 2nd trek to Lebanon Valley. Event #2 of the 2010 season saw the membership growing and a first winner. First time NENDRA racers Gary Federico with his 1972 Nova and the 1968 Dodge Dart of S. McDevitt made a great showing and also welcome back Rich Cosenza with his ultra clean 1966 Chevy Chevelle. The semi finals had Barry Longo with his 1969 Chevy Camaro getting the BYE and newcomer Gary Federico taking on long time NENDRA member and Lebanon regular Bob Onofrio. It took alomost a perfect package by Bob Onofrio running a 10.39 on a 10.39 with a .004 reaction to finally get his first win. Event #3 is scheduled for June 5th at Lebanon followed by event #4 our first stop at Island Dragway on June 20th.

The 2010 NENDRA season has officially begun and with sunny skies and temps in the 90's at Lebanon Valley it made for a hot day of racing. Event #1 of the 2010 season was a deja vu to the 2009 opener. The semi finals had Wayne Farquhar taking the round win over newcomer to NENDRA Bruce Sessions and his 1965 Dodge Coronet. Jeff Kraenzle had the BYE. In the finals was Wayne Farquhar and Jeff Kraenzle with Wayne Farquhar in his 1966 Chevy Nova taking the win on a redlight by the 1967 Plymouth GTX of Jeff Kraenzle. The last few weeks have been hectic. We've been working hard to secure our racing schedule for next year and the results are in. The 2010 NENDRA racing season is going to be awesome. I have just received final confirmation of our track venues and dates. We have grown from 9 events in 2009 to 15 for 2010. Thanks to all the members and racers for making a great showing everywhere we went. The 2010 membership/rules package is up and ready for download, and the 2010 racing schedule is official and has also been posted. The member open house outting will most likely be the 3rd week in January so be on the lookout for that update. Be sure to read the new recruit kickback program offered this year. Should be a great way to grow the membership. If anyone has any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us direct.

Nendra event #11 scheduled for Saturday 24th has been rained out. We have been told by Island Dragway Track Management that we are moved to Sunday 10/25. Be sure to check the schedule page and forum for more details.

The Nendra show made its way to Island for event Number 9 this weekend. Possibly the best weather of the season. The Danbury John and Cuda Steve show was again in full effect. In the tightest race I have ever seen, Danbury John took the win over Steve Seifert. Check out these Numbers.

Nendra is back on track. The schedule will resume as originally posted which is also posted on our schedule page. Danbury John took another win and Mike Volpe was the runner-up. Mike also backup up a previous best and is firmly in the 10's. Way to go guys.

Another event plagued by the almighty and unkowing weathermen. The diehards were out in force and another NENDRA event is decided by inches. Event #1 winner GTX Jeff Kraenzle (North Bennington, VT) returned to take another win sporting his new Sox and Martin Tribute Paint Scheme. Wayne Farquhar has become Mister consistent making it to another final but losing again by a thread (.018) margin at the stripe. Next event is scheduled for August 8th at Lebanon Valley Dragway. Here are our results from this past Saturday 5/23 at Lebanon Valley for our Nendra event #2. I think I want to be a weatherman so I can get paid to be wrong all the time. The Valley was great with temps in the 70's and humidity hanging around 35%. Steve Seifert from Shelton, CT in his 1971 Plymouth Cuda came out on top due to a redlight from runner up Wayne Farquhar of Massachussetts and his 1966 Chevy Nova. With the win Steve has taken over the points lead and Wayne made a huge jump into the #2 points position. Congrats to both and thanks everyone for attending. I know I had a blast even though I suffered a flat, taking me out before round one. Oh well. Our next 2 events are at Lebanon Valley on June 6th and June 20th.

Great news and a Schedule Update. Thanks to Tony at the legendary Island Dragway, we have been given 3 additional dates. The following dates have been added to the 2009 NENDRA schedule. 9/6, 9/20, 10/24.
Tony has also made it known that trophies will be awarded to the winner and runner-up.

Event #1 in the 2009 NENDRA racing series got off to a strange start. With the threat of weekend rain in the forecast all week, car count for the first event of the year was low. But, that did not take away from a great day of racing. Congratulations to GTX Jeff for taking the win and Chris "SUPERSTOCKRACER" taking runner-up at the first event of the year.
